About the Hospital
Our client is one of the Tasmania’s leading providers of private health care offering first class medical and pastoral care for patients and their families. Our client’s specialities include rehabilitation, endoscopy, surgical services and advanced care for more critical patients. With four operating theatres and two endoscopy procedure rooms, this hospital provides both day and overnight surgical medical services. Our client’s Primary purpose is to provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients and nursing staff within the unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
Our well-established client is on look outs for Registered Nurse’s for Mental Health with the following attributes;

Promotes patient safety through appropriate monitoring and comprehensive clinical risk assessment.
Develops individualised nursing care plans in consultation with the patient, significant others and the interdisciplinary health care team.
Provides psycho-education for the patient and their families and carers to improve patient outcomes.
Creates individualised discharge plans that promote relapse prevention and adequate follow-up.
Demonstrates commitment to quality processes and evidence-based practices, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to these improvements.
Registration with AHPRA and in possession of a current practicing certificate
Relevant post graduate qualification
Demonstration of maintenance of CPD points
Demonstrated clinical competence in area of specialty if required.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Ability to build relationships with all stakeholders
Decision making and delegation skills
2 years relevant clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
Completed Post-graduate studies in Mental Health / Psychiatric Nursing
Recent practice in Mental Health
